Former Mass General Volunteer Director
Joins Cape Cod Volunteers Board
YARMOUTHPORT – Cape Cod Volunteers announces the addition of Patricia Rowell of East Orleans to its Board of Directors. Ms. Rowell has been a specialist in volunteering since joining Massachusetts General Hospital in 1980. Among her many honors are President of the New England Association Directors of Health Care Volunteer Services and recipient of the American Hospital Association Award for Excellence. She has been a consultant and workshop leader for volunteer issues internationally.
“Our mission is to make it easier for people to find meaningful volunteer opportunities with nonprofits all over Cape Cod,” said Lisa McNeill, President of Cape Cod Volunteers. “Pat Rowell’s incredible experience will enable us to expand another service, that of developing programs to help Cape Cod nonprofits run more effective volunteer programs,” continued Ms. McNeill. “In addition to our volunteer matching website, www.ccvolunteers.org, and our telephone and Opportunity Center consultations, we will offer advice and workshops to Cape Cod nonprofits on how to better attract, reward, and retain volunteers.”
Cape Cod Volunteers was established in 2010 to link people with meaningful opportunities for volunteering all over Cape Cod. This is done by informing Cape Codders—residents and visitors alike—about the many volunteer opportunities, programs, and agencies that exist in our community, and by helping people identify their own interests, skills, talents, and passion for service to the community.
